Cape Town Stands with Palestine: Highlights from the Mass Pro-Palestine March
Source: Facebook
On Saturday, 25th May, Cape Town came together in a powerful demonstration of unity and solidarity with the people of Palestine. Organized by the Muslim Judicial Council and the Al Quds Foundation South Africa, the march began at Muir Street Mosque and concluded at the Legislative Building on Wale Street.
This march was more than just a protest; it was a beacon of hope and a call for justice, highlighting the ongoing atrocities committed by Israel against the Palestinian population in Gaza. Thousands of people from all walks of life joined hands to voice their support and demand an end to the violence.
We are deeply grateful to all the organizations and individuals who participated and helped make this event a success. Your presence and support are crucial in our collective effort to bring attention to the plight of the Palestinian people and to fight for their rights and freedom.
Below are some of the highlights captured from various social media posts during the march. We thank everyone for sharing their moments and experiences.
Together, we stand stronger. Together, we can make a difference.
Thank you, Cape Town, for your unwavering support and solidarity.

“That’s the thing about war: it’s never enough to disable the buildings, to blow holes into their middles; instead, they’re hit over and over again, as if to pound them to dust, to disintegrate them, to remove them from the earth, to deny that families ever lived in them. But people did live there. And they needed to return, even though there was nothing left to return to except forbidding piles of broken concrete and cable wires sticking out of the heaps like markers of malevolence.”
